PRE-PURCHASE SURVEYS
The Pre-Purchase Survey (the Most Comprehensive), includes the thorough inspection and operation of all vessel systems, including Propulsion Systems, Electrical Systems, Fuel
Systems, Navigational Systems, and all other machinery and electronics.
· An out-of-water inspection of the hull's wetted surface and running gear is performed, including Precision Dial Indicating of shafts
and propellers for straightness and proper balance.
· A phenolic hull sounding is conducted on the hull’s wetted surfaces, to identify laminate voids, delamination, or other material
deficiencies and defects.
· An inspection of accessible interior and exterior vessel structures is performed.
· Determination of the vessel's "Fair Market Value", and the Survey's "Findings and Recommendations" are made.
· A Sea-Trial is conducted, and vessel performance is evaluated.
· Electronic Corrosion Analysis Surveys are performed on the vessel's underwater metals to determine proper Electrolytic Corrosion
Protection, as requested.
· Electronic Moisture Analysis is performed on suspect vessel laminates.
· Engine, Transmission, and Generator inspections are performed utilizing the latest Marine Technology, including: Infrared Temperature
Gauges, Digital Tachometers, Stethoscopes, and Compression gauges, among other Diagnostic equipment, as requested.
· Oil Spectrometer Analysis is performed on engines, generators, and gears to identify abnormal or premature internal engine/gear metal
wear, cooling system leaks or leeching, failed gaskets, failed seals/o-rings, cracked engine/gear components, carburetion/fuel injection problems, previous overheating, faulty air induction systems,
heat exchanger failure, and viscosity breakdown, etc.
· Engine Coolants are chemically tested for PH levels and Alkalinity to determine the Coolant’s lifespan and it’s effectiveness
in preventing corrosion in the Cooling System.
· Inspection is performed on sailing vessel’s rigging, spars, and masts, as accessible.
· Ultrasonic Metal Thickness Audio Gauging Services are available, for Aluminum and Steel vessels. Accurate Multiple Echo
(through-paint) Audio Gauging is utilized. All measurements are taken non-destructively, without the need to remove your expensive antifouling bottom paints, coatings, or fairings.
· Electrical outlets are tested for proper Polarity and Ground Fault Interupt Circuit Protection.
· Electronic PPM (parts per million) Testing for the presence of dangerous Carbon Monoxide levels, is performed in enclosed cabin spaces.
AMC, Inc. has performed Surveys throughout the United States, Bahamas, Caribbean, Central & South America, Europe, and Asia. Travel to any location in the world
can be arranged, with the lowest travel costs available. Survey Reports and Oil Analysis results are typically delivered within twenty four to forty eight (24-48) hours of Survey completion. Photo
documentation is included.
INSURANCE / FINANCE SURVEYS
The Condition and Value Survey (Insurance / Finance Survey) is conducted for the Insurance Company or Financial Institution, in order to determine if the vessel is an acceptable
risk, and establish a "Fair Market Value". These institutions are most interested in the structural integrity, safety, and value of the vessel.
DAMAGE SURVEYS
Damage Surveys are performed to assess the extent of vessel damage, recommend repairs, estimate repair cost, and determine probable cause of the damage.
APPRAISALS
Appraisals are conducted to gather enough information to justify or determine the “Fair Market Value” of the vessel. Appraisals are generally needed for financing,
donations, estate settlements, and legal cases.
CONSULTING
Allied Marine Consultants, Inc. provides the following Consulting Services:
· Expert Witness Testimony, Admiralty Investigations Support, and Insurance Arbitration.
· Consulting & Compliance on New Vessel Construction, Vessel Refit., and Damage Investigations.
· Instruction on Vessel Navigation and Operation.
All Surveys are conducted in compliance with the Mandatory Safety Standards set forth by the United States Coast Guard (USCG), under the authority of Title 46 United States Code
(USC); Title 33 and title 46, Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), and the voluntary Standards and Recommended Practices developed by the American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC), and the National Fire
Protection Association (NFPA).
