Chosen as one of the "Top Three Most Highly Recommended Marine Survey Companies"
in Florida, by National Underwriters.

SERVICES

PRE-PURCHASE SURVEYS
The Pre-Purchase Survey (the most comprehensive), includes the inspection and operation of all vessel systems, including Propulsion Systems, Electrical Systems, Fuel Systems, Navigational Systems, Plumbing Systems, Pump Systems and all other on-board machinery and electronics.

- An inspection of accessible interior and exterior vessel structures is performed (keel, stem, stringers, transversals, chines, battens, bulkheads, frames, decks, superstructure, joiner work, etc.).

- An out-of-water inspection of the hull's wetted surfaces, topside surfaces and propulsion/running gear is performed.

- A percussion hull sounding is conducted on the hull’s wetted surfaces, to identify laminate voids, delamination or other material deficiencies or defects.

- A Trial-Run is conducted, and vessel performance and Navigational equipment is evaluated.

- Electronic Moisture Analysis is performed on suspect vessel laminates, with options for utilizing five (5) different types of Moisture Meters for cross-testing.

- Electrical AC power outlets are tested for proper Polarity and Ground Fault Circuit Interrupt Protection.

- Determination of the vessel's "Fair Market Value" & "Replacement Value", and the Survey's "Findings and Recommendations" are made.

- Ultrasonic Metal Thickness Audio Gauging Services are available for Aluminum and Steel vessels.  Accurate Multiple Echo (through-paint) Audio Gauging is utilized.
Metal Thickness measurements are taken in a non-destructive manner, without removing expensive anti-fouling bottom paints, coatings or fairings.

- Thermal Imaging Surveys
are available, conducted by a Certified Level I Infrared Thermographer, utilizing High Resolution FLIR Infrared Thermal Cameras.

- Electronic Corrosion Analysis Surveys are available for the vessel's underwater metals to determine proper Electrolytic Corrosion Protection.

- Separate Expert Engine/Mechanical Surveys are invaluable and always highly recommended; however, basic Engine, Transmission and Generator inspections are available utilizing the latest Marine Technology, including: Infrared Temperature Sensors, Digital Tachometers and Compression gauges, among other Diagnostic equipment.

- Oil Spectrometer Analysis Tribology in (ppm) parts per million, is available for engines, generators, transmissions and drives, to identify abnormal or premature internal engine/gear metal wear, external contamination particles, cooling system leaks or alloy leaching, failed gaskets, failed seals and o-rings, cracked engine/gear components, carburetor/fuel injection problems, previous overheating, faulty air induction systems, failures in heat-exchangers, exhaust manifolds, coolers and risers, lubricant oxidation and viscosity breakdown within the units.

- Testing of Engine Coolants is
available to determine the Coolant’s life-span and its effectiveness in preventing corrosion in the Cooling System.

  • AMC, Inc. has performed Surveys throughout the United States, Bahamas, Caribbean, Central & South America, Europe, Middle East, Asia, Australasia and the Pacific Islands.  Travel to any location in the world can be arranged with some of the most competitive travel costs in the industry.  Survey Reports and Oil Analysis results are delivered promptly.  Photo documentation is included with the Survey.

INSURANCE / FINANCE SURVEYS
The Condition and Value Survey (Insurance Underwriter’s or Finance Underwriter’s Survey) is conducted for the Insurance Company or Financial Institution in order to determine if the vessel is an acceptable risk and establish a "Fair Market Value".  These institutions are most interested in the structural integrity, safety and value of the vessel.
DAMAGE SURVEYS
Damage Surveys are performed to assess the extent of vessel damage, recommend repairs, estimate repair cost and determine probable cause of the damage.
APPRAISALS
Appraisals are conducted to gather enough information to justify or determine the “Fair Market Value” of the vessel.  Appraisals are generally required for financing, donations, estate settlements and legal cases.
